Parliament’s recommendations to tackle illegal use of spyware
MEPs will vote at noon on their proposals to respond to spyware abuse in Europe and avoid its illegal use in the future, based on the findings of the Committee of Inquiry investigating Pegasus and equivalent programmes. This vote puts an end to the EP inquiry committee’s work over a year.

New EP composition for 2024 European elections: Parliament to adopt its proposal
Ahead of next year’s European elections, plenary will vote on a draft legislative proposal seeking to raise the number of seats in the Chamber to 716 –distributing eleven extra seats across nine countries- , to reflect demographic changes in the EU. Following the vote in Parliament, the European Council will adopt by unanimity the final decision, which needs Parliament’s consent.

Reconstructing Ukraine
Parliament is set to outline in a resolution its ideas on Ukraine’s future in NATO and how to support the country’s reconstruction following the Russian war of aggression against the country, prioritising its integration into the Euro-Atlantic community.

Nature restoration
MEPs on the Environment Committee will vote on draft legislation on nature restoration, which aims to contribute to the long-term and sustained recovery of damaged nature across the EU’s land and sea areas and to achieve EU climate and biodiversity objectives. The voting sessions starts at 8.30. A press conference with the rapporteur will take place at 10.30.

New eco-design rules
The Environment Committee will also vote on its proposals to make products in the EU more environmentally friendly, circular and energy efficient throughout their whole lifecycle. The voting session starts at 8.30.

- the torture and criminal prosecution of Ukrainian minors Tihran Ohannisian and Mykyta Khanhanov by the Russian Federation;

- the establishment of an EU day for the victims of the global climate crisis;
- Ukraine’s accession to the Convention of 2 July 2019 on the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments in civil or commercial matters;

- the lessons learnt from the Pandora Papers and other revelations, and
- the Sustainable Development Goals.
