    ILO to release new analysis on key workers



    GENEVA (ILO News) – The International Labour Organization (ILO) will publish a report on key workers – who played a vital role during the COVID-19 pandemic – and their relevance in the daily functioning of economies.

    The report, World Employment and Social Outlook 2023: The value of essential work, and accompanying press release will be published on Wednesday 15 March 2023. It provides a detailed description of the situation of key workers around the world, including their working conditions, wages, and the challenges they face.

    The report and all associated materials will be under STRICT EMBARGO until Wednesday 15 March at 11:00 CET (10:00 GMT).

    For UNOG-accredited correspondents, an embargoed virtual press briefing will take place on Wednesday 15 March from 09:00 to 10:00 CET (08:00 to 09:00 GMT). Login details will be sent to journalists ahead of the briefing.

    Recognized regional journalists will be able to follow the virtual briefing via YouTube. The link will be sent in advance.

    Manuela Tomei, Assistant Director-General for Governance, Rights and Dialogue, Richard Samans, Director, Research Department and Janine Berg, Senior Economist, will present the findings.

    Embargoed copies of the report and the press release can be made available to recognized media on request.

    Audio of the briefing will be available to the UNOG press corps and registered journalists after the press conference.
